Five Grade 11 pupils that have been chosen from across Africa that embarked on a journey of a lifetime with Riaan Manser to explore the most environmentally isolated and unique continent on earth, Antarctica.
I went to Antarctica expecting an adventure. I came back with a responsibility: to stop only talking and start doing.
That’s why I’m partnering with the other SIA participants to help install water wells. Clean water changes everything: health, school attendance, dignity, and opportunity.
If you donate, you’re not funding a concept. You’re funding something measurable: a community getting reliable access to safe water. Antarctica showed me how connected we all are, and I don’t want this experience to end as a story. I want it to become impact.

I hope to build a deeper sense of compassion that moves people from a place of comfort and apathy toward one of action and behavioural changes. I hope to inspire others to see nature not as something distant or lifeless, but as the foundation of all life and the basis of our existence.
Our environment is beyond sacred and essential. Countless human beings depend on its health – not just ecosystems far away, but the lives of families everywhere. When the balance of nature is destroyed-it’s no longer an abstract problem; it directly threatens the survival of communities, livelihoods, and the harmony that all of us rely on.
– Allegra Merlanne Du Randt
Humanitarian work has been my passion since a young age. Opening a Waterwell has been my dream. Being part of a process that will change the lives of thousands. Help us help those in need. Help us empower individuals and communitie.
Give water…Give life!
– Aaminah Choonara
I can’t melt the icebergs in Antarctica to provide water , But My heart melts at the generosity that’s left in this frozen and cold world. My Journey to the end of the world light a glimmer of hope that if we choose to go above and beyond for eco conservatism, then we can further for a fellow Human Being. You donate to dig a waterwell, Well I say you donate to create the chasm in which dreams will be born.Take the action- it’s just a button away and a heart closer.
– Ntokozo Junior Nkuna
From Ice to Life is important to me, not just because it provides clean, fresh drinking water, but because it gives the children an opportunity to focus on education rather than worrying where they would get their next sip of water.
